So you’ve decided it’s time to lose weight, and like everything else in life, you want it to happen now. We live in a society that thrives on instant gratification – fast food, fast cars, fast service, and now we even shop on the Internet so we don’t have to stand in line. And keeping in mind the normal pace of our lives, most of us want to lose weight fast!
But there are some basic principles of weight loss that should be followed, even when you want to lose weight fast. You have to forget about dieting and learn to focus on healthy eating habits. Cutting calories alone doesn’t give your body the nutrition it needs to maintain a fast metabolism and keep your energy high.
On the other hand, eating a nutrient-dense, low-calorie diet won’t make you feel as hungry, provides your body with essential vitamins and minerals, and gives you the energy to walk past the donut table in between. Afternoon. And finding these foods isn’t as difficult as you might think. Do you know that you can eat as many raw fruits and vegetables as you want without fear of gaining weight?
Exercise is another important factor in losing weight, staying healthy and having more energy. As much as you may think you hate exercise, just keep in mind that you’re not training to compete in the Olympics. Instead you’re just trying to increase your metabolism and burn a few extra calories. Try using the stairs instead of the elevator, parking farther away so you have to take a few extra steps, or fitting 30 minutes of walking or other exercise programs into your schedule each day.
Remember to rest too! Many of us are busy from the time we wake up till the time we go to sleep. Sometimes finding time to eat or exercise can be a challenge. But cutting down on sleep will only hinder your efforts to lose weight.
Shoot for 7-8 hours at night. Some people believe they can function on less, and though you’ll stay awake. Studies have shown you’ll snack more in an effort to sharpen your brain and keep yourself awake. Lack of sleep also increases your stress levels which releases hormones known to pack on the pounds. It is nature’s way of protecting the body.
And to further boost your weight loss efforts, try adding these natural weight loss drinks to your diet every day.
apple cider vinegar and weight loss
Apple cider vinegar is a very powerful natural appetite suppressant if you can get past the taste, which is very bad. But, because hunger is the biggest obstacle in your efforts toward effective weight loss, you may need the aid of an appetite suppressant like apple cider vinegar, at least until you get used to eating.
You may rely on prescription weight loss pills, but apple cider vinegar is 100% natural so it is a safer alternative to drugs. Drinking three tablespoons of vinegar mixed with eight ounces of water just before meals will increase your metabolic rate and should make you feel more energetic throughout the day.
green tea weight loss tea
I think most people would have heard about the great health benefits of green tea by now, especially with regard to weight loss. Most weight loss supplements contain green tea these days, and for good reason. Not only is it rich in antioxidants, but the active ingredient in green tea, epigallocatechin (EGCG), is very valuable in promoting fat burning processes such as thermogenesis and fat oxidation in humans.
Green tea weight loss drinks can be purchased anywhere other bottled drinks are sold, but you can also make your own fresh brew. If you don’t like the taste of green tea, try mixing it with lemon juice and honey.
