Tips to grow hair faster naturally with sesame oil

Recently I was equally delighted as a woman shared with me how she found that sesame oil and water worked great to restore the health of her scalp and hair. Continuous application of sesame oil for scalp massage and applying it to the hair has stopped itching of the scalp. Since then, her hair has become less dry and frizzy which makes her really happy.

This is really great news from her and I am so glad to hear that she has found that sesame oil works wonders for her scalp and hair. Incidentally, sesame oil is something that I also use sometimes especially for massaging my scalp.

In fact, I use a variety of oils and it all really depends on how I feel or what recipe strikes me over a certain period of time, like a couple of weeks. I ‘naturally schedule’ my hair recipes while discovering new things or finding new ways to mix and match ingredients that I know work to make hair grow faster .

I will be sharing some sesame oil recipe for faster hair growth. However, if you want to try sesame oil as a regular, you need to check with your doctor first for any allergies — especially if it’s something new to you. I know some friends who are allergic to sesame, just as some are allergic to nuts.

Once you’re prepared, here are some ways to use this simple and inexpensive oil.

sesame oil hair spray

This is the easiest recipe. Add 2-3 drops of sesame oil and some water in a handy and small pump or spray bottle that you can keep with you. Before use, just give the mixture a good shake to mix well. Then spritz some on your hands or spray to apply to the ends of your hair. Well, now you have a handy little bottle of hair spray or hair moisturizer that you can use throughout your day as and when you need to.

Hair spray is the easiest to make and can come in very handy, especially when I know I have to be out in the sun, at the park, at the beach, etc. After swimming and washing your hair, use just a tiny bit to moisturize dry hair with this natural spray.

Massage head with sesame oil

Follow these 6 steps for a good sesame oil and scalp massage:

Step 1 – Comb your hair. Wash your hair clean and pat it dry.

Step 2 – Apply sesame oil directly to your scalp with your fingertips. Do not apply to the ends of your hair. Now massage your scalp for at least 5-10 minutes. Allow the oil to penetrate the skin or pores of your scalp.

Step 3 – For dry, coarse, brittle or fizzy hair, apply a little sesame oil to the ends of your hair with the palm of your hands. Apply them evenly on your hair or use a comb.

Step 4 – Leave on for 30 minutes. If you feel like wrapping your hair in a hot towel, that’s great too, especially for dry textured, fizzy or coarse hair.

Step 5 – Otherwise, you can leave it overnight. Just remember to use a cloth or towel to cover your pillow. Wash it off when you wake up the next day. Otherwise, you can also skip this step and go to step 6.

Step 6 – Wash and rinse your hair with a mild shampoo. Your hair is clean. It doesn’t need to be washed unless it is very dry and ‘squeak clean’. It’s okay if your hair feels ‘wet’. Otherwise, if it feels too dry, especially for dry textured hair, you might want to spritz it with something damp afterwards. Another way is to add honey to your mild shampoo as a conditioner.

sesame oil hair conditioning hot treatment

This is not something that you need to do every day as it takes longer to do. For dry, rough, brittle and split ends, do this routine once or twice a week for a good start. You can then reapply several times depending on the condition of your scalp and hair.

When you’re ready, here are 6 easy steps to follow:

Step 1 – Comb your hair. Wash your hair and pat it dry.

Step 2 – Pour sesame oil in a small flat dish. Place this dish over a mug of hot water to heat the oil.

Step 3 – Apply warm sesame oil to the lines or skin of your scalp – again, not your hair, however. Take your time to massage your scalp thoroughly.

Step 4 – Apply or ‘glide’ sesame oil evenly over your hair, especially the ends of the hair. Use a comb to do it evenly.

Step 5 – Wrap a hot towel around your hair. Leave your hair wrapped for 30 minutes to 1 hour – it really depends on your own convenience and time.

Step 6 – Remove the towel, wash and rinse hair with a good mild shampoo.

Take your time to have fun, play sports, and fine-tune your recipes to find what suits you best or suits your scalp and hair condition.
